A-9000 signals to plan around
| Topic | Supplier prep action |
|---|---|
| AS9102 FAI | Use the current AS9102 revision and the Collins document flowed for the site or business unit. |
| English/equivalent forms | Confirm format and language expectations before submission. |
| Sub-tier flowdown | Flow Collins and AS9102 FAI requirements to applicable sub-tier suppliers. |
| Approval before shipment | Plan enough lead time for Collins review where approval is required before shipment. |
| Trigger events | Watch first production lot, source/process/tooling/material changes, corrective action, NC program changes, events affecting the process, and two-year lapse language. |
Submission readiness
The practical risk is timing: a technically complete FAIR can still block shipment if the customer-required approval path is not complete. Keep Form 1 approvals, Form 2 certificates, Form 3 results, CMM evidence, and sub-tier records in one review package.

FAQ
Does Collins require approval before shipment?
Some public Collins supplier-quality language says the supplier is not authorized to ship until Collins approves the FAIR or gives other authorization. Confirm the document and PO that apply to your part.
Does a two-year lapse trigger FAI?
Collins public A-9000 language includes a two-year lapse trigger or the period specified by purchase order. Use the flowed document for the controlling rule.

Keep the FAIR review tied to the print
Articul pre-fills Forms 1-3 from the print and routes anything uncertain to you, including drawing notes and title-block fields, while preserving source traceability for review.
